Northern Inland Regional
Development Plan

Regional Development Australia has been established to bring together the various agencies and levels of government focussed on sustainable and inclusive economic development throughout rural Australia.

The national network is made up of 55 committees made up of local leaders who work to support the development of their regions. The committees particularly work to:

  • consult and engage with communities
  • promote and participate in regional programs and initiatives
  • provide information and advice on their region to all levels of government
  • support informed regional planning

Starfish’s Role

Starfish prepared the local development plans for the Northern Inland, which in turn were analysed and formed the basis of the first Northern Inland Regional Development Plan. The process involved nineteen local planning forums, analysing several dozen existing development plans ~ including the New England Sustainability Strategy ~ and then integrating the findings from all of these to form the basis of the Regional Development Plan.
